I DRUIDI (THE DRUIDS)

I druidi erano membri delle antiche società celtiche che vivevano in Europa Occidentale, Britannia e Irlanda.
I Celti venivano chiamati in vari modi: Keltoi o Keltai e Galatai dai Greci, Galli dai Romani.
I druidi avevano diversi doveri: erano religiosi, guaritori, insegnanti e magistrati.
Non si conosce molto delle tradizioni e delle usanze dei druidi ma si sa che per diventarlo dovevano imparare un gran numero di cose. Secondo Cesare, che chiamava i druidi “filosofi barbari”, il loro corso di studi durava almeno 20 anni.
Il druido più famoso che conosco è Panoramix (delle avventure di Asterix e Obelix)!



The druids were members of ancient Celtic societies who lived in Western Europe, Britain and Ireland.
Celtic people was called in various ways: Keltoi or keltai and Galatai, by the Greeks, Galli by the Romans.
The druids had various duties: they were priests, healers, scholars and magistrates.
We don’t know many about traditions and manners of the druids but we know that to become it they must learn many things. Caesar, who called druids “barbarian philosophers”, said that their course of study lasted almost 20 years.
The most famous druid that I know is Panoramix (Asterix and Obelix’s adventures)!
